Lostintranslation shows Gold Cup credentials

Lostintranslation showed his Cheltenham Gold Cup credentials with a commanding win at Carlisle on Sunday. The Colin Tizzard-trained seven-year-old had only picked up two wins from six novice chases last term, but got this campaign up-and-running in style with a victory in the Colin Parker Memorial Intermediate Chase. Lostintranslation was quickly guided to the front by jockey Robbie Power and jumped well throughout the two-and-a-half-mile trip. He finished two and a quarter lengths ahead of Count Meribel, while Kildisart was another nine lengths back in third, with outsider My Old Gold last of four. The long-term aim is a tilt is the Gold Cup in March, while Tizzard revealed the next destination will be Haydock on November 23. He said: “He looked it (foot perfect), didn’t he? You never know first time out, but he jumped well and travelled well – and that was great. He should come on for the run – and his next race will be the Betfair Chase at Haydock, all being well.”
