Leicester linked to Brugge hitman Dennis

Leicester City are being linked with a January transfer window swoop for Club Brugge’s Nigerian forward Emmanuel Dennis. The 21-year-old is currently in his third season with the Belgian Pro League’s current leaders, having joined them from Ukrainian Premier League club Zorya Luhansk in summer 2016.
Dennis had scored 19 goals in 70 appearances in his first two seasons with Brugge, but he is already on six from 16 games so far this season.
Two of those goals came in an impressive performance against Real Madrid as the side secured a memorable 2-2 draw against the Spanish giants at the Bernabeu in the Champions League.
Dennis’ form has resulted in a call-up to the Nigeria senior squad and he made his debut in a 2-2 international friendly draw against the Ukraine in September.
His performances have also resulted in several clubs expressing an interest in signing him as the January transfer window looms on the horizon.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is believed to be interested in taking Dennis to the King Power Stadium to provide cover for his ten-goal top scorer Jamie Vardy.
It’s being reported that Brugge would be looking to pick up between €20m-€23million for the player’s signature.
Ironically if Leicester did snap up Dennis then it would push his fellow compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho further down the pecking order.
The 23-year-old has scored two goals in his two appearances so far this season and both came in the Carabao Cup.
However, it appears that Iheanacho, who joined the Foxes from Manchester City in August 2017 for £25m, is not in the plans of Rodgers as he looks to secure a top-four finish for the team this season.
Leicester are currently third in the Premier League, ahead of Chelsea on goal difference and just two points behind reigning champions Manchester City.
