Pellegrini considering Diangana recall

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is considering recalling Grady Diangana from his loan spell with West Brom in January. The 21-year-old joined West Ham’s academy in 2010 and was handed his first taste of senior football by Pellegrini last season.
The youngster put in a starring performance on his debut in the EFL Cup against Macclesfield, playing the full game and scoring twice in an 8-0 victory at the London Stadium.
Pellegrini rewarded the DR Congo-born ace with his maiden Premier League appearance three days later, although he was only introduced during stoppage time in the 3-1 win over Manchester United.
An injury to Andriy Yarmolenko afforded the midfielder a consistent run of games and he ended 2018-19 with 17 Premier League games under his belt.
West Ham further demonstrated their faith in the England Under-20 international by handing over a six-year contract in January.
However, Pellegrini did not feel he would benefit from fleeting appearances this season and decided to make him available for loan over the summer.
West Brom boss Slaven Bilic, who knew the youngster from his time at the London Stadium, jumped at the chance to take him to the Hawthorns.
Diangana has enjoyed a strong start to life with the Baggies, hitting four goals and assisting a further four in nine Championship outings to help them to the top of the table.
He was involved in both goals as West Brom saw off Stoke 2-0 on Monday, crossing for Matt Phillips to score before winning the penalty for Hal Robson-Kanu to slot home in the second half.
But his time away from the East End outfit could be cut short, with reports claiming the Hammers chief is considering the possibility of an early recall.
The Chilean is not satisfied with his attacking options after a terrible run of results and feels the schemer can play a role.
Michail Antonio is sidelined with a hamstring injury while Felipe Anderson and Pablo Fornals have struggled to string performances together.
It remains to be seen whether the South American tactician will even be in a job by the time January comes around, with recent results putting him under serious pressure.
They are without a win since September 22, failing to win any of their past six games across all competitions, and sit 13th in the Premier League after a big summer of spending.
