Novak Djokovic is seeking an extra “drop of necessary energy” as he bids to end the season with the ATP Tour Finals title. The world number two landed the Paris Masters title earlier this month and hopes to back up that success by taking the trophy in London. Djokovic, a five-time winner of the season-ending showpiece, lost the final last year to Alex Zverev, with his last success in the event coming in 2015. The Serb has enjoyed an impressive 2019 after he managed to add the Australian Open and Wimbledon titles to his Grand Slam haul, taking his total to 16 major wins. “I’m also trying to find another, so to say, drop of necessary energy to finish off the season in the best possible way,” he said. “So mentally I’m, you know, obviously [the same] as everybody else but I’m talking for myself, trying to push myself even harder to really make the finish line, you know, as best possible.” Djokovic has been drawn against Roger Federer, Dominic Thiem and tournament debutant Matteo Berrettini in the Bjorn Borg Group.
