Wilder offers Morrison backing

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder says Ravel Morrison remains a part of his plans going forward. The Blades brought in the midfielder on a free transfer from Swedish outfit Ostersund during the summer but he has been unable to force his way into the side on a regular basis.
The former Manchester United, West Ham and Lazio man has managed just one appearance in the Premier League, a 13-minute cameo in the loss to Leicester in August, with two further outings in the EFL Cup.
Wilder says the 26-year-old can still establish himself in the United side and urged Morrison to keep working to give himself the best possible chance of regular game-time. “Ravel is the same, he’s no different from one player to the other,” Wilder told the Sheffield Star. “There are no favourites. I see a talent from everybody. They’ve all got their attributes, that’s why we sign them and bring them to the club.”
Morrison hasn’t made the matchday squad for the Blades in the Premier League since the win at Everton in September when he was an unused substitute, a run stretching five games.
The former England youth international signed a one-year deal when he made the move to Bramall Lane in July.
The Manchester-born midfielder has struggled with injury in recent seasons, which contributed to Ostersund’s decision not to offer him a new deal.
Morrison has only managed over 10 appearances in a season once since the 2013/14 campaign and that was during a stint on loan with Mexican outfit Atlas FC.
Morrison featured just nine times in Sweden with Ostersund last season and scored one goal.
