Tierney puts his faith in Emery

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney insists the players are firmly behind boss Unai Emery after their recent slump in form. Gunners fans have voiced their disappointment in recent weeks, with the club now falling behind in the race for the top four, sitting fifth, six points behind Chelsea.
Arsenal have now not won in their last four matches in all competitions after Wednesday’s 1-1 draw in the Europa League against Vitoria Guimaraes. Emery’s side took the lead through Shkodran Mustafi, but they conceded in stoppage time as Bruno Duarte scored an overhead kick.
Arsenal remain top of Group F with two games remaining, but they have already been dumped out of the Carabao Cup.
They were knocked out on penalties by Liverpool last week, while they have won just one of their last five in the Premier League.
Emery is thought to be under pressure at the Emirates Stadium after spending heavily in the summer, but Tierney says the players must take more responsibility.
He told reporters: “It is up to us as players to correct it on the pitch. For me, he (Emery) has been brilliant since I’ve come in. I have learned a lot. I am learning a lot every day, playing with great players. Everybody in the changing room has got belief in each other and the manager. “He likes to keep the ball, pass the ball with a possession type game, and for me, I am just learning and working on my technique with him.”
Tierney will be hoping to play his part on Saturday as the Gunners travel to Leicester City for the evening kick-off. He will then be staying in London during the international break, with Scotland boss Steve Clarke told to leave him out by Arsenal’s medical staff.
The former Celtic ace had a double hernia operation in the summer, but he will be hoping to play his part on the international stage in the new year.
