Insight into Norwich v Watford

The Premier League’s bottom two go head-to-head in a massive game for both sides on Friday night. The odds make it virtually a 50-50 game which might surprise some. After all, Norwich have beaten champions Manchester City at Carrow Road this season.
However, there are good reasons for the pricing and Watford look capable of breaking their win duck.
They’ve undoubtedly improved defensively since Quique Sanchez Flores returned to the club, keeping clean sheets against both Bournemouth and Sheffield United, while they also earned a 1-1 draw at Spurs.
Goals have been the problem but facing Norwich’s leaky back-line looks to be just what the doctor ordered to cure that.
The Canaries have shipped at least two goals in four of their five home games so far, while only Aston Villa have conceded more shots per game in the top flight. In that list, Watford are down in 12th, reflecting their improved defence.
In addition, the Hornets are in the top half of the shots-taken-per-game table which suggests it is the finishing which has been an issue, not the creation.
With that in mind, it may be worth backing Gerard Deulofeu to find the target.
He’s been a very streaky player during his time in the Premier League, both at Everton and Watford.
Watford fans haven’t since the best of him this season but he’s caught the eye in recent games and managed to get off the mark for the season last weekend. That was from the penalty spot (significant in itself to backers) but the confidence will have been boosted.
Deulofeu bagged nine goals in his last 14 games of last season to support the streaky point and the skilful Spaniard looks capable of making mincemeat out of one of the league’s worst defences. He’s 11/5 for a goal at any time and 7/1 to bag the opener.
