Zidane stands firm over Mbappe comments

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is refusing to back down over his claims that Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe wants to play for the Spanish club. Mbappe, 20, has been with PSG since the summer of 2018 and has enhanced his considerable reputation at the Ligue 1 giants.
With 69 goals to his name from 97 appearances in all competitions, the talented youngster is possibly the hottest property in European football, with a few top clubs linked to the former Monaco man.
Real’s name has been connected to the France international for some time and Los Blancos have made no secret of the fact they would love him at the Bernabeu.
PSG sporting director Leonardo labelled Zidane’s comments on Mbappe as “annoying” and “irritating” earlier this week.
But the French tactician  will not retract his statement and made it clear he will keep speaking his mind on the issue. “All I said was something the player had already said, that it was his dream to wear Real Madrid’s white jersey,” he said. “That’s all I said, and I’m saying it again, and I will repeat it every day. “Regarding Leonardo’s reaction I have no comments. He says whatever he wants, he’s entitled to, just like I’m entitled to say whatever I want today.”
The future of Mbappe’s Paris team-mate Neymar has also been the subject of much speculation, with the Brazil international craving a move back to Barcelona. PSG are refusing to sanction the deal until they get the price they want.
