Klopp keeping Kopites grounded

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists his side have achieved nothing in the Premier League yet – even with a nine-point advantage over Manchester City. Sunday’s 3-1 win at Anfield left City fourth in the table, with Leicester City and Chelsea the Reds’ nearest challengers eight points back, and Pep Guardiola knows his side face a tough challenge if they are retain the title they won by a point from Liverpool last season.
Guardiola also pointed to the fact there are still 26 matches remaining, with Liverpool having a hectic December and January, which does offer them some hope to his City side.
Klopp, however, is taking it one match at a time and is adamant that nothing has been achieved just yet. “Are we thinking about going through the season unbeaten? Not at all,” said the German tactician. “We just don’t think about it. We don’t feel any pressure, to be 100 per cent honest. The things that will now come up, we know about. If you are with us, then nine points is a positive. There’s a long way to go. “Other people will 100 per cent say – and have said already – that from now on Liverpool can only lose it. That’s a very negative approach, but you can see it like this. But I can promise you that we don’t care.”
Goals from Fabinho, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane wrapped up the win for the Reds on Sunday, while Bernardo Silva could only score a consolation goal for the Citizens.
Liverpool now enter the international break but return to Premier League action on November 23 when they make the trip to Crystal Palace.
The Reds have come undone at Selhurst Park before, famously during their unsuccessful title charge under former boss Brendan Rodgers in 2013/2014.
