Christmas bonus for United kids

Manchester United are set to reward more of their young breakthrough talents with improved pay deals in the run up to Christmas. Striker Mason Greenwood penned new £25,000-per-week terms last month and the Red Devils now want to acknowledge more of their exciting academy graduates, having been handed their first-team break this season by United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
It is understood young left-back Brandon Williams, who made his first Premier League start in Sunday’s 3-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion, has in recent days seen his weekly pay increased to around £10,000-per-week.
Williams, 19, was previously on £800-per-week and certainly had his manager singing his praises in the aftermath of the Seagulls’ visit.
Solskjaer said: “He’s (Williams) done nothing wrong since he’s come in and making it hard for me (to leave him out), definitely. He’s really, really impressed me. I have to say he’s making it hard for me to leave him out.”
United have been forced to give youth a fling this term due to injuries sustained by some of the more experienced players in their expensively-assembled squad.

Also in line for a pay hike is 18-year-old defensive midfielder James Garner, with the Birkenhead-born starlet making three senior appearances so far.
A potential cloud on the horizon, however, is the continued uncertainty surrounding the future of 19-year-old winger Tahith Chong, now in the final year of his deal at Old Trafford.
The Netherlands starlet is being linked with a free transfer switch to Juventus next summer, with United prepared to offer the prospect a similar deal to the one they persuaded Greenwood to sign.
Bosses at the Theatre of Dreams have a clear plan with regards to promoting more players from their youth ranks, so want to show their kids that they do not need to go anywhere else to be looked after on the wages front should they thrive in the senior spotlight.
