Burnley-linked Kral dreams of Premier League move

Spartak Moscow midfielder Alex Kral, who was linked to Burnley late last month, admits it is his dream to play in the Premier League. Kral was the subject of a Clarets scouting mission to the Russian capital on October 27 when it emerged that Burnley were one of three Premier League clubs at Spartak’s 3-0 win over Lokomotiv Moscow to specifically watch him.
The 21-year-old caught the eye of the English clubs after his starring role in the Czech Republic’s 2-1 win over England in Prague two weeks before that as he outran and outpassed Declan Rice and Jordan Henderson.
Now back on international duty with his country, Kral spoke to iSport about those reports linking him with a move to Premier League. “The Premier League is my dream,” he admitted. “If anyone wants to go to the English League, they have to be prepared for it. I want to be a player who, if he gets there, will be ready to play. Not to sit on the bench.”
Burnley boss Sean Dyche would certainly approve of that attitude and the Turf Moor boss is actively looking for central midfield cover as it is an area he knows he must strengthen.
The Clarets were linked to Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton this week as a potential January transfer option as speculation surrounds mounts over whether Chelsea loanee Danny Drinkwater will be kept around for much longer.
Bitton is nearing the end of his deal in Glasgow and could be a cheap and available signing, whereas Kral only joined Spartak in the summer and would cost much more, because of his length of contract, age and the expected competition for his services.
He added: “I can’t move until summer anyway, I have played for two clubs this season. Moreover, there is a big difference between if someone is interested in you or places a contract in front of you and takes action.”
