Giroud continues to impress – Zouma

Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma says striker Olivier Giroud deserves lots of praise for his “professional attitude” this season. Giroud has only made four appearances in the Premier League this season, with Tammy Abraham getting the nod up front for the Blues.
Manager Frank Lampard has decided to give youth a chance during his first year in charge at Stamford Bridge with Abraham, Reece James and Mason Mount all benefitting.
Abraham has repaid his boss after scoring 10 goals in 12 matches, while Michy Batshuayi appears to be the back-up option.
The Belgium international has made seven appearances and scored one goal, and Giroud could well be on his way in the January transfer window.
Earlier this month, we discussed if Giroud could be a good fit for Crystal Palace, while Watford, Everton and Newcastle United could all do with a new striker.
In the past, some players have made life difficult until they got their move, but Zouma says Giroud continues to work hard in training and help the next generation.
Zouma told Canal+: “He is frustrated, he wants to play more. Like any football player, he wants to be on the pitch, but he is taking everything very calmly. “He is a professional, he works hard in training. I have a lot of respect for the player he is.As someone in the dressing room, he is someone who gives advice to Tammy and Michy. “He wants the best for the team, which is important, and it is why he is a good person.”
Giroud is likely to ask for a move with his place in the France squad under threat. He was included in their squad for their matches Moldova on Thursday and Albania on Sunday.
However, he will have one eye on the European Championships in 2020, and the former Arsenal man will not be willing to risk his place under Didier Deschamps.
