United come up with plan to land strike target

Manchester United could agree to loaning Erling Haaland back to Red Bull Salzburg, if they can wrap up a deal for the striker in the January window. The 19-year-old striker is one of the most in-demand youngsters in European football right now following some stunning performances for the Austrian side this season.
Haaland has been scoring goals for fun in both the Austrian Bundesliga and Champions League, so it is no surprise that the likes of Bayern Munich, Juventus and Liverpool have all been linked.
Manchester United can also be added to that list, and have come up with a plan to try and steal a march on their rivals.
The Reds hope to sign Haaland on a permanent basis in the January transfer window, but will then agree to loan the youngster back to the Austrians for the remainder of this season.
Salzburg could be willing to go with that as it means he will still be able to help them push for honours this season, while they will also get the cash in the bank and can set about trying to find a replacement for next season.
Whether that will be enough for United to win the race remains to be seen as it could spark other interested parties into life.
United do have an advantage over the likes of Bayern and Juve though as the player wants to follow in the footsteps of his father, Alfe-Inge, and play in the English Premier League.
He recently spoke of his love of English football and that could give United the edge, although Liverpool are also in the hunt.
Haaland has scored 26 goals in just 18 appearances for Salzburg this season and whoever does end up buying him will have to dig very deep as the Austrians will be demanding big bucks.
