Quinlan ready for big campaign in 2020

Hull KR full-back Adam Quinlan says he cannot wait to get started in 2020 after missing the majority of the 2019 campaign. The Australian missed nine months of 2019 after suffering a serious knee injury. He eventually returned to action during the campaign before then missing the final four weeks of the season with an adductor issue. Quinlan still managed to make an impact as he scored six tries in just 10 matches once he had returned in June. He was always playing catch up under coach Tony Smith, but he is confident that will not be the case in 2020. The 27-year-old has already started training ahead of the new campaign, and he believes he will be in the best shape possible. He told the Hull Daily Mail: “It’s definitely going to be a massive boost for me after not having a pre-season last year with my knee injury. “I’m looking forward to working hard for these few months and building going into the season, which should do wonders for me. “It’s obviously going to be a lot more beneficial getting a full pre-season under my belt, especially with a lot of new guys and being able to work on new combinations. “Personally I want to have a big season and try get back to the form I was in before my injury. “Hopefully we’ll be competing week in, week out and winning the majority of our games to be in a much better position than this season. “We want to give the fans and ourselves an easier ride. I’m confident we can do it.”
