Crystal Palace could attempt to solve their issues in front of goal by making a move for Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard in the January transfer window. The Eagles struggled for goals last season and failed to address the issue during the summer transfer window with Roy Hodgson not landing the star striker he craved.
However they started the season well and were in and around the top six, before a recent run of poor results has seen them slip down the table.
Again, it is issues in front of goal that look to be the problem as they have just managed to score 10 in 12 games, with struggling Watford the only club in the Premier League to have scored less.
Wilfried Zaha has also drawn a blank which has not helped matters and now Hodgson is stepping up his search for a new striker with Edouard said to be high on his wanted list.
The 21-year-old has been a revelation for the Hoops since turning his loan move from Paris Saint-Germain into a permanent deal, and it is no surprise that Palace and other clubs are keeping tabs on him.
The young Frenchman has made 105 appearances for Neil Lennon’s side, scoring 45 goals in total and providing another 24 assists.
He has also started this season very brightly when scoring 12 goals and providing another 12 assists in 24 appearances as Celtic sit top of the Ladbrokes Premiership.
Such form has caught the eye of watching scouts and Celtic are now bracing themselves for interest ahead of the January transfer window.
Palace are ready to offer £20million for the player and although Celtic will fight to keep hold, that kind of offer could be too good for them to turn down.
The Eagles still have money available from the sale of Aaron Wan Bissaka to Manchester United, and £20million would not be an issue for them.
