Arsenal reach verbal agreement with Aubameyang over £250,000-per-week three-year deal

Arsenal are reportedly close to agreeing a new three-year deal with captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to The Telegraph, the contract that Arsenal have offered Aubameyang would run until 2023, which would cover the final year of his current deal and extend it by a further two years.

The report states that Arsenal are drawing up the final contract proposal for the 31-year-old to sign after positive talks during which verbal promises were made.

Aubameyang’s new deal is set to be worth £250,000 a week and will also include significant bonuses.

The Gabon international is set to commit his future to Arsenal after being assured that the club will strengthen their squad during the transfer window.

Willian is reportedly close to joining from Chelsea, while the Gunners have also been linked with Lille centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes. Arsenal are also interested in bringing in a midfielder.

Arsenal were eager to tie Aubameyang down to a new deal, with the 31-year-old a crucial part of Mikel Arteta’s side.

Since he joined from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, Aubameyang has scored 70 goals in 109 games for Arsenal.

Aubameyang’s display in Arsenal’s FA Cup final victory against Chelsea last weekend, during which he scored both goals in a 2-0 success, emphasised his importance to the club.
