Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has dropped a big hint on social media that a deal for Bayer Leverkusen ace Kai Havertz is close.
Chelsea are now free to make their move for Havertz after Bayer were dumped out of Europe at the hands of Inter Milan.
Bayer chiefs were unwilling to entertain any offers for their prized asset while they were still bidding for glory in the Europa League. But their dream of lifting the continent’s secondary competition came crashing to an end on Monday night.
Havertz scored in the 2-1 defeat as Bayer and Chelsea are now to discuss a fee for his services.
And Lampard has appeared to confirm his plans by liking a video of Havertz on social media.
