Following the Super Eagles 2-1 win over the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in Tuesday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture. Completesports.com’s ADEBOYE AMOSU appraisers the performance of the players…
MADUKA OKOYE 6/10
The Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper didn’t have much to do in the game. He could however have done better with Cape Verde’s goal.
SHEHU ABDULLAHI 4/10
Struggled defensively and didn’t contribute much to the team’s attack.
KENNETH OMERUO 7/10
A rock at the back. Stood up to the challenge of the Cape Verdeans and was one of Nigeria’s top performers in the game. Booked for a rash tackle late on.
CHIDOZIE AWAZIEM 7/10
Formed a perfect partnership with Kenneth Omeruo at the heart of the Super Eagles defence. A solid display from the Boavista man.
JAMILU COLLINS 7/10
A man of the match display from the FC Paderborn defender. Collins provided the cross which led to the first goal and was impressive all through.
INNOCENT BONNKE 6/10
Put up an above average performance on his debut for the Super Eagles. Helped shield the defence well, though didn’t offer much going forward.
KINGSLEY MICHAEL 5/10
Struggled to cope with the pace of the game in the first half, but improved after the break.
AHMED MUSA 4/10
Gave possession away too cheapily a couple of times. The captain was replaced by Terem Moffi in the second half.
MOSES SIMON 5/10
Not a good performance from the winger. He will need to improve on his crosses and show more consistency.
CHIDERA EJUKE 8/10
A lively display from the CSKA Moscow winger. Grabbed his chance well and clearly have a future in the team.
VICTOR OSIMHEN 8/10
Showed great alertness for his goal and led the attack well.

Didn’t too much following his introduction.
PAUL ONUACHU 3/10
Took the place of Victor Osimhen in the 83rd minute. Had a shot blocked late on.
