Eguavoen: No Complacency Against Guinea-Bissau

Super Eagles interim head coach Austine Eguavoen says the team will approach Wednesday’s (today) Group D clash against Guinea-Bissau with a serious mindset, reports Completesports.com.

The West Africans have nothing to play for having secure a place in the second round following victories in their opening two games against Egypt and Sudan.

“It is important for us to sustain the winning mentality while we keep our heads on our shoulders,” Eguavoen told a press conference on Tuesday.

“Just as I told the boys after the match against Egypt, we are yet to win anything here except points.”

“Guinea Bissau need the three points because they have only one so far, and we must be prepared for a massive fight.

“If we let down our guard, we could be punished, and that would not be good for the team’s psychology. We will go for the three points.”

The encounter will take place at the Roumde Adija Stadium, Garoua.
