Nigeria And Morroco Target Laurent Blanc For Coaching Roles

African giants Nigeria and Morocco are keen on appointing Frenchman Laurent Blanc as head coach of their national teams, reports Completesports.com.

According to a report in getfootballnewsfrance, the two countries are seriously interested in the former Manchester United and Barcelona defender.

Blanc left Qatari club Al-Rayan earlier this season and it remain to be seen if he will be interested in taking the Super Eagles job.

The Nigeria Football Federation sacked interim technical adviser Augustine Eguavoen following the Super Eagles failure to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Former Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde and former Netherlands international Phlilip Cocu are also rumoured to be in the running for the job.

The NFF are looking to appoint a new manager in time for the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which starts in June.

Morocco are considering removing Vahid Halilhodzic despite World Cup qualification last month after falling out with star forward Hakim Ziyech.
