Ronaldo may stay at Man Utd for two more years if his contract’s extension bid is accepted as speculations of a transfer abroad start to diminish, according to Erik ten Hag. Atletico Madrid, Sporting, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich are just a few of the clubs who have been connected to the Portuguese superstar as he awaits a possible summer transfer.
Premier League giants maintain they have no intention of selling, with their new manager suggesting that a five-time Ballon d’Or winner might see a clause in his contract that keeps him at Old Trafford until 2024 activated at some point.
Will Ronaldo Remain At Man Utd?
Ronaldo is getting towards the end of the initial deal he signed when he returned to England in 2021, but Ten Hag has suggested that an extension might be put in place: “I am well informed he also has also an option, eh?
“Yes (he could stay beyond this season), but to be honest, of course I have signed here for three years, but in football it’s short-term as well. We have to win from the start. So I don’t look that far ahead.
“I have a strategy, it’s a process, it takes time, but in the end we have to make sure from the outset there is a winning team.”

Despite scoring 24 goals last season, there were doubts about Ronaldo’s suitability as United’s offensive captain.
Ten Hag, however, is confident that the iconic 37-year-old can fit into his system:
“I think Cristiano is capable of doing that.
“In his career, he has shown everything. I have set my demand. We want to play in a certain way. A top player can contribute and Ronaldo is an absolute top player in our squad.
“The players dictate the way you play. Especially players who score goals because they are extremely important for a team. You construct your team around them.”
How Soon Will Ronaldo Join Man Utd?
After being granted an extended absence owing to family concerns, an all-time great was not included in the Red Devils’ preseason plans in Asia and Australia.
Before returning to Europe, United have two more matches in Australia against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, and is hesitant to give a specific timeline for Ronaldo’s reintegration into the team.
When asked for an update on the Portuguese situation, Erik Ten Hag responded as follows:
“The same status as last week in Bangkok: no change. I cannot tell you (when he will be back at Carrington). No change in the issue.
“He is training. I think we all know Ronaldo is a top professional and he will be fit. That is the last concern I have.”
