Cesc Fabregas thinks Arsenal have checked all the boxes in the summer transfer window and should be confident about their chances in the 2022-23 Premier League season.
The Spaniard, who joined Second division team Como on a free transfer, will now continue his career in Italy as part of an agreement that also makes him a club shareholder.
The ex-Arsenal player, who still enjoys supporting the London team, commended technical director Edu and manager Mikel Arteta for their good work in the transfer market
How Did Fabregas Describe Arteta?
Speaking to Sky Sports, Fabregas applauded the Arsenal manager and stated, “I think Mikel is doing a fantastic job, and I think Edu is doing a fantastic job.
“Not only for what they’re doing, because when we talk about football people, Edu is a football man and he’s had the patience and he knows exactly what it takes sometimes to build a project. You cannot do it in one day or two days.”
Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko were both acquired by Arsenal from Manchester City. They have also signed Fabio Vieira from Porto and Marquinhos from Sao Paulo, as well as goalkeeper Matt Turner from New England. To further strengthen the team, they are still hunting for midfield additions.
“The market doesn’t allow you to get the right player, sometimes you are too young to compete as happened at Arsenal during one or two years but I think they are mature, the younger players are not so young anymore,” Fabregas added.
The 35-year-old is confident that the new additions will give Arsenal their very best effort and help them reach new levels in the 2022–23 campaign.
“I see a different phase, they strengthened the team well in certain areas that they were struggling and I’m really looking forward to the season because it’s really exciting.”
