Marcus Rashford’s meteoric rise at Manchester United continued this afternoon, after just one shot.
The United striker looked to be having a fairly ineffectual 45 minutes against Aston Villa during their Premier League tie at Old Trafford, but pounced on Antonio Valencia’s low cross to direct the ball into the bottom corner from 12 yards.
The instinctive strike was emblematic of his strikes so far, with Rashford quickly earning the tag of a first-touch finisher.
While the 18-year-old’s form is nothing short of remarkable, his goal further compounded misery on relegation-bound Villa, who have now scored less Premier League goals than the teenager since his debut on 28 February.
The goal maintained his 100% shooting accuracy as of half-time in the game, with Rashford’s only other shot being saved.
The youngster has shown a predatory touch since he was introduced into the United side in a Europe League tie against Midtjylland – only because of a late injury to Anthony Martial.
Rashford has not looked back since, and after scoring in the FA Cup quarter- final replay against West Ham on Wednesday night, the striker is showing no signs of slowing down.
