Erik ten Hag Calls For Man United fans’ Unity Amid Glazer Protest

Erik ten Hag has appealed for unity in the face of planned anti-Glazer protests by Manchester United fans, saying that the club’s despised American owners want success for the club. Angry fans plan to protest ahead of Monday’s match against Liverpool.

However, Ten Hag emphasizes that the entire club must band together if they are to recover from their disastrous start to the season.

What Has Erik Ten Hag Said On The United Fan’s Protest Threats?

United fans have intensified their calls for the Glazer family to sell after two consecutive defeats dropped them to the  table after two weeks of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign.

The hashtag #EmptyOldTrafford has been trending on social media, with fans hoping to express their anger ahead of the match against arch rivals Liverpool.

Ten Hag, though, posed the risk of backlash when he said: “I can only say the owners want to win and the fans, we want them behind the club.

“I can understand sometimes (the anger) but I am not that long in the club to see all the background. We have to fight together and be unified.”

There is mounting speculation that the Glazers are willing to sell, with billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe stating his intention to buy them out.

The Glazers Are Under Pressure

Aside from the poor start to the season, fans are enraged by United’s lack of transfer activity this summer.

However, Ten Hag is close to completing the signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid, with the Brazilian international expressing his desire to join United in a deal worth roughly £51 million ($60 million) with add-ons.

Ten Hag refused to confirm the 30-year- old’s imminent arrival.
