Jurgen Klopp Gives Another Excuse Again! Takes Shots At United’s Defending

After Liverpool’s shocking 2-1 loss to Manchester United, Jurgen Klopp has continued to grab attention. The Reds manager has now taken a dig at Man United’s defending.

Jurgen Klopp has slammed Manchester United’s defence, which stopped Liverpool from leaving Old Trafford with a win.

In a thrilling meeting between the two sides on Monday, United prevailed 2-1, but Klopp made headlines after the game by claiming that Liverpool “should have won the game.”

The Liverpool boss has continued his jabs at Erik ten Hag’s players, who managed to hold onto their slim lead with some desperate defending late in the game after Mohamed Salah scored a goal for the visitors.

What Did Klopp Say?

Speaking to Viaplay, Klopp stated: “We caused them massive problems. We were unlucky in certain situations, especially around the set-piece that we didn’t score.

“That could have turned the game, hypothetical of course. But we had a good second part of the first half, so we wanted to build on that and showed the boys [at half-time] a couple of situations where we played exactly in the spaces where United couldn’t even get [near] to us.

“I think there were really confusing defensive situations where nobody of them [United’s defenders] knew anymore really where [Liverpool’s attackers] were, but there were enough legs there so they could defend it. And we couldn’t score.”
