Lionel Messi is “looking back to his best,” according to Sergio Aguero, and can help Paris Saint-Germain win the Champions League this year.
PSG have started the Ligue 1 season with blistering form, with Messi’s three goals and five assists one of the reasons for the good start.
However, the French champions must now launch a genuine bid for the Champions League trophy that has eluded them so far. They face Italian giants, Juventus, in the UCL matchday 1 on Tuesday, 6th September, at 8:00 WAT.
During his first season at PSG after joining from Barcelona, Messi received harsh criticism from the club’s supporters.
Nonetheless, the 35-year-old is off to a strong start this season with Neymar and Mbappe. The trio are now firing on all cylinders, and Aguero has tipped them as strong contenders for the European crown.

“The team Leo is on will always be a candidate. He looks like he’s back to his best and Leo has that winning mentality that he needs in any team with an aspiration to achieve everything,” Aguero told Stake.
