Marco Asensio Left Frustrated After Ancelotti Decision In Mallorca Win

After Carlo Ancelotti decided against using Marco Asensio in Real Madrid’s match against Mallorca, the player was seen having a major meltdown on the sidelines.

Real kept their lead in La Liga with a fifth straight victory over the island underdogs, winning 4-1 with goals from Federico Valverde, Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and Antonio Rudiger.

Los Blancos had to come from behind after Mallorca’s Vedat Muriwi opened the scoring. Asensio undoubtedly wasn’t in the best of spirits after such a stunning comeback victory for Real.

Why Was Asensio Angry?

Asensio was denied a late cameo against his old team as Eduardo Camavinga, Nacho, Luka Modric, and Dani Carvajal all came off the bench during the game.

The 26-year-old expressed his displeasure with Ancelotti’s decision from the dugout. The midfielder marched back to the dugout and flung a training bib onto a seat after finishing a warm-up on the touchline.

Then, as he stomped furiously back to the bench, he kicked something to the ground. When Asensio returned, he slammed something else down on the seat next to him before crossing his arms in an apparent display of rage.

Later, after Rodrygo scored Real’s third goal, the TV cameras panned back to him, and he did not appear pleased.

Madrid manager, Ancelotti, spoke about the incident following the match and expressed sympathy for the star’s plight: “Asensio’s anger for not playing? I agree with him, so I’ll keep it in mind.”
