Rashford has had a strong start to the 2022-23 season under United’s new boss, scoring three goals in six games, including a brace against Arsenal.
However, an ankle issue now appears to be going to keep him out of Gareth Southgate’s plans for the upcoming Nations League matches against Germany and Italy.
Rashford was sidelined with the same injury last Thursday when United faced Real Sociedad in the Europa League opener.
Ten Hag still has a lot of attacking alternatives in the 24-year-old’s absence. Summer acquisition Antony can play a support position on the right wing while Cristiano Ronaldo lead the line once more.
Despite a recent injury setback, Erik ten Hag thinks Marcus Rashford will still be called up for England’s World Cup squad.

Ahead of the Red Devils’ trip to Sheriff Tiraspol, the Dutch tactician said: “He’s not available. The consequence after Arsenal, he has a muscle injury,”
“No, I don’t think too long (his absence), but I cannot tell how long. It’s not really bad and we expect him to be back quite soon in the team.”
Regarding Rashford’s prospects of being selected for the England World Cup squad, Ten Hag added: “It’s quite obvious and quite clear (he can).

“He played really good seasons and this season he has had a great comeback. He’s shown his great potential and quality.”
Rashford will make the most of the international break to work on his fitness. With a Manchester derby slated for October 2, he’ll be aiming to be back fully fit and firing.
