Arthur Could Leave Liverpool In January- Klopp Not Happy

Liverpool may be open to letting Juventus loanee Arthur leave the club in January if they can secure a permanent deal for a new midfielder.

The Reds did not bolster their midfield during the summer transfer window, with Jurgen Klopp willing to wait until 2023 before making a big-money deal.

However, when injuries began to mount, Liverpool tried to find a last-minute solution, with Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain taking up positions in the medical bay.

On transfer deadline day, Liverpool signed Arthur on a season-long loan from Juventus, and the Italian club disclosed that the deal includes a €37.5m (£32.5m) option to buy.

Due to his lack of recent competitive action for Juventus, Klopp has been working him in gradually, and he made his Champions League debut in last week’s 4-1 defeat to Napoli.

Arthur only played 13 minutes of that game because James Milner started ahead of him in midfield, and he has also been an unused substitute against Everton and, most recently, Ajax.

Will Arthur Melo Return To Juventus

While the Brazilian is under contract at Anfield until the summer of 2023, Tuttomercatoweb believes that his loan stint could be cut short if Liverpool can secure a replacement midfielder.

According to the report, Arthur is not the type of player Klopp was looking for over the summer, and the Reds would not hesitate to send the midfielder back to Turin.

However, Arthur appears to be out of Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri’s plans, since he had no reservations about letting the ex-Barcelona midfielder leave on deadline day despite Paul Pogba’s catastrophic injury.

Arthur’s contract with the Old Lady runs through the end of the 2024-25 season, but with Liverpool unlikely to exercise their option to make the move permanent, his future remains uncertain.

Liverpool To Sign Jude Bellingham?

Borussia Dortmund and England star Jude Bellingham has long been linked with a move to Anfield in terms of big-name midfielders on Liverpool’s list.

The 19-year-old has already established himself as a key player for club and country, scoring the opening goal in Edin Terzic’s side’s 2-1 Champions League loss to Man City on Wednesday.

Bellingham stated over the summer that he will remain at the Westfalenstadion for the 2022-23 season, and Dortmund were unlikely to authorise a transfer any way.

However, a strong tussle for the midfielder’s services is likely in 2023, with Liverpool competing with Manchester United to bring him back to his homeland.

Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella and PSV Eindhoven’s Ibrahim Sangare have both been suggested as prospective targets for the Reds, but the latter recently extended his contract with the Dutch club until 2027.
