Videos of Atletico Madrid supporters yelling “Vinicius is a monkey” outside the Wanda Metropolitano surfaced online. Furthermore, those chantings continued throughout the game across the whole stadium.
According to Isaac Fouto of Cadena Cope, La Liga is collating information regarding the incidents from last night into a report to be delivered to the Anti-violence Commission.

It is the responsibility of the commission to handle all instances of discrimination.
In addition to the racist taunts directed towards the Brazilian forward, the report will also note another chanting “Vinicius, die.” Those chants were apparently also audible in the Metropolitano.
Regardless of the report, La Liga’s response will demonstrate how seriously they are taking the situation.
Furthermore, Atletico Madrid have a history of covering up for different despicable behaviors among some of their supporters.
Away from the controversy, Real Madrid defeated Atletico 2-1 at the Wanda Metropolitano to extend their perfect start to the La Liga season.
With the win, Real move back to the top of the LaLiga standings with 18 points after six games. Meanwhile, Atleti are seventh on the table, eight points behind their city rivals.
