Borussia Dortmund Interested In Liverpool Midfielder Naby Keita

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita as a potential transfer target next summer.

With less than a year left on his current deal, the 27-year-long-term old’s future at Anfield is currently a hot topic of discussion.

Furthermore, the Guinea international international is yet to make an appearance this season, his absence noticeable at a time when Liverpool had frequently struggled for fit midfielders.

Despite the current scenario, the Premier League giants are said to be optimistic about finally agreeing to new terms with a player who cost £52.75m in 2018.

However, it was reported over the weekend that Keita ‘wants assurances’ about his playing time after being in and out of Jurgen Klopp’s starting xi for the past four years.

Keita has appeared in 72 starts and 45 substitute appearances in all competitions, with only 46 of those starts coming in the Premier League.

Although it is currently unknown if Klopp would agree to such demands, it seems that Keita will be eager to secure his contract.

Dortmund are considering a move for Keita, as per Bild via Fichajes, if his contractual situation remains the same.

Rather than trying to sign Keita in January, it is believed that they intend to sign him on a free transfer for the start of 2023-24.

Keita is no stranger to the Bundesliga, having appeared in 58 games for RB Leipzig between 2016 and 2018.

Dortmund are now well stocked in that region of the pitch, with Emre Can, Salih Ozcan, Jude Bellingham, Mahmoud Dahoud, and Giovanni Reyna all in contenders for starting spots when fit.

However, Dortmund may be willing to part ways with Bellingham next summer, knowing that the England international will be in high demand.

According to a recent report, the German giants may be willing to accept offers of £83m in exchange for an upfront transfer fee.
