Robert Lewandowski Is A “Killer,” Says RCD Mallorca Coach Ahead Of Clash

Ahead of this weekend’s match between the two clubs, RCD Mallorca coach, Javier Aguirre, has labeled Robert Lewandowski as a “killer” and praised the Barcelona superstar.

Mallorca welcome Barcelona to Son Moix on Saturday night, and their boss has heaped praise on Lewandowski on the eve of the game.

Lewandowski joined Barcelona only last summer and has already made a name for himself there.

The 34-year-old is now top of the La Liga scoring charts with eight goals in six games. Furthermore, he has scored 11 goals in just eight games overall across all competitions.

The Polish captain has been a major factor in the Catalans’ strong start to the season, which has seen them remain unbeaten in La Liga and trail Real Madrid by just two points.

What Did Aguirre Say About Lewandowski?

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Aguirre said to SPORTOh my God. I’ve seen him on TV. It’s a good signing for the league.

“It gives the league attention all over the world. He’s a killer in the penalty area, you can’t give him one free inch.”

Aguirre also discussed the injuries sustained by Barcelona players over the international break. He wished Ronald Araujo, in particular, a swift recovery in the hopes that the Uruguayan would qualify for the World Cup.

“I hope Araujo makes it to the World Cup, he is an extraordinary player, he has just renewed and he deserves the best.

“We always like the best to be on the field. Whoever plays will do well. With or without casualties, they will complicate it a lot for us, for sure.”
