Cristiano Ronaldo Is Happy At Man United, Ten Hag Insists

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo remains happy at Old Trafford. This comes after he chose not to use Ronaldo as a substitute in their 6-3 loss to Manchester City last weekend at the Etihad stadium.

Ronaldo was benched by Ten Hag, who chose to use his five substitutes on other players despite the team losing 4-0 at halftime.

The last time Ronaldo started a Premier League game for United was on August 13 against Brentford, which was seven and a half weeks ago.

Is Cristiano Ronaldo Happy At Man United?

Ronaldo is still said to be in a good mood at the club, however, despite his extended absence from the starting lineup – according to Ten Hag.

“I don’t see he is unhappy,” Ten Hag said in a press conference on Wednesday. “He’s happy, he is training well. He’s enjoying it and I think everyone is training well.

“It is a good spirit and vibe in the training so that’s not the point but it’s important because it is a base to work well.”

Ten Hag was forced to elaborate on his thoughts when his response was met with considerable skepticism.

“He is not happy that he wasn’t playing on Sunday, don’t get me wrong. But that wasn’t the question,” he said.

“The question was what he is like on the training pitch and what his mood is around the team. He is happy. But of course, he wants to play and he is p****d off when he is not playing, clearly.”
