Casemiro ‘Tells friends He Regrets Joining Manchester United’

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro reportedly has regrets over his move to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.

Casemiro was expected to stay at Real Madrid for a 10th season after adding another trophy to his collection.

However, after receiving an offer from Manchester United, the Brazil international told Carlo Ancelotti that he believed it was the perfect time to embark on a new challenge.

Given United’s early-season setbacks to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford, the 30-year-old was expected to fit into Erik ten Hag’s midfield easily.

That, however, has not been the case, as United defeated Liverpool and Arsenal at home without the £60m man in their lineup.

Instead, Casemiro has only played 82 minutes of Premier League football in four substitute appearances, with the majority of his playing time coming in the Europa League.

In that competition, he has made two starts and one replacement appearance, totalling 217 minutes, but it looks that the seasoned South American believes he made the wrong decision.

As per Todofichajes, Casemiro has already informed friends that he regrets joining the Premier League giants.

According to the report, he would accept a return to Real Madrid if it became an option, which is unlikely given the transfer sums involved.

Furthermore, it is stated that Casemiro would be willing to leave on loan during the January transfer window in order to receive regular playing time.

With Casemiro initially contracted to United until 2026, and United having the option for an additional year, a move so soon after his arrival seemed quite unlikely.

Casemiro will look to earn his first Premier League start of the season when Manchester United travel to Goodison Park to play Everton on Sunday evening.
