Manchester United Manger Erik ten Hag said that Cristiano Ronaldo had “an impact” in Thursday’s Europa League clash against Omonia in Cyprus.
The 37-year-old was actively engaged in the European match, having eight shots in total, including hitting the post in the second half, but he was unable to score.
Ronaldo was involved in Man United’s first goal of the night, through Marcus Rashford, before providing the assist for the Englishman in the 84th minute.
Ten Hag expressed his satisfaction with the Portuguese’s performance in Cyprus following the 20-time English champions’ comeback victory over Omonia.
Ten Hag said as quoted by Manchester Evening News: “I think the first two [shots he had produced] good saves from the goalie. He had a couple of chances, also he created a couple of chances. He was in for a good move and run for the first goal with Marcus Rashford, so he had an impact in this game.”
“I think we created a lot of chances tonight, we count them only in the first-half already 14, so there was a lot of threat to the opponent’s goal.”

Ronaldo’s future is being questioned once again ahead of the January transfer window, with Galatasaray reportedly planning a mid-season bid for the Portuguese.
The forward has only scored once in nine appearances for the Red Devils this season, a penalty in the Europa League victory over Sheriff Tiraspol in the middle of September.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has only made one Premier League start this season, and he was an unused substitute in Sunday’s Manchester derby against Manchester City.
The striker now has to fight to keep his starting spot against Everton this weekend in the league after Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford both performed well as subs in Cyprus.
