Despite their difficulties in the Premier League this year, Bukayo Saka has labeled Liverpool as “fantastic” and said that Arsenal has “a lot of respect” for them.
Saka scored a brace, including the game-winning penalty late in the second half, as Arsenal defeated the Reds 3-2 on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta has seen his squad struggle in the past against Jurgen Klopp’s “mentality monsters,” but the past weekend’s outcome and performance suggest that the tide may be turning.
However, Saka acknowledged the significance of Arsenal’s victory over Liverpool when asked about it and praised the Merseyside team in an interview with Sky Sports.
What Did Saka Say About Liverpool?
“The last two or three years, Liverpool have been a team we have struggled against,” said Saka.
“To win in front of our fans was special, it shows how much we are progressing and we just want to continue putting in performances like this.

“It gives us more belief because they are a fantastic team and we have a lot of respect for them.”
Saka initially started off the season in a quiet fashion, despite his side’s strong start, but his form is now seriously starting to pick up.
