Kylian Mbappe Eclipsed his Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Lionel Messi as the most prolific player after scoring his 40th Champions League goal against Juventus.
Mbappé’s power and agility were on full show on Wednesday as he shrugged off a defender desperately yanking on his shirt to score a sensational goal in the Champions League.
The French international started the scoring in their match against Juventus with a magnificent long-range strike, and PSG went on to win 2-1.
However, PSG had to settle for second place in Group H when Benfica took the lead on away goals with a 6-1 thrashing of Maccabi Haifa.
Mbappe’s solo goal was his 40th in the Champions League, making him the youngest player to do so at 23 years and 316 days, breaking Lionel Messi’s record when he was 24 years and 130 days old.

Mbappe has previously scored four goals to help France win the 2018 World Cup. He could score even more if France makes another run in this year’s competition, which begins Nov. 20.
However, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has already passed those benchmarks faster than Mbappe, and he is now only nine goals behind Mbappe’s tally of 40 with 19 months to go.
Mbappe made his debut as a 17-year-old for Monaco in the 2016/2017 season.
He scored six goals in six starts for Leonardo Jardim’s team that season, before joining PSG.
Mbappe has now scored seven goals in six games this season.
Both players will be in action this weekend as PSG takes on Lorient in Ligue 1.
