Gerard Pique received a straight red card in his final game in his professional career as Barcelona came from behind to beat Osasuna 2-1 in La Liga on Tuesday night
After appearing in Barcelona’s 2-0 win over Almeira last weekend, the 35-year-old defender was an unused substitute against Osasuna as the Catalan giants won their fifth consecutive La Liga victory.
Pique was sent off after arguing with referee Jesus Gil Manzano as both clubs went down the tunnel at halftime, capping up a thrilling first 45 minutes at the Estadio El Sadar.

Barcelona went down in the sixth minute when Osasuna’s David Garcia headed into the bottom corner following Ruben Garcia’s outswinging corner.
Osasuna’s chances of a historic win against the Catalan club were boosted further when Robert Lewandowski was sent off for two bookable offences in the opening 31 minutes.
After earning an early yellow card for a full-on on Ignacio Vidal, Lewandowski received his second yellow card for barging into David Garcia, with his elbow colliding with the Osasuna winger’s face.
Pique was enraged by the referee’s decision to remove Lewandowski before collecting his own red card when the half-time whistle blew.
The seasoned defender has now matched Pep Guardiola and Hristo Stoichkov in getting the most red cards (eight) for Barcelona in La Liga history.
Pique and Lewandowski were unable to assist their teammates in the second half, but Xavi’s side held on thanks to goals from Pedri and Raphinha.
