Miguel Almiron Named Premier League Player Of The Month

After putting on a number of standout performances, Miguel Almiron has been voted the Premier League’s Player of the Month for October.

The Paraguayan won the prize over players like Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne as well as teammates from Newcastle United Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes.

Bruno Guimaraes specially urged supporters to vote for Almiron rather than him.

Almironā€™s form has been instrumental to Newcastleā€™s outstanding season so far; he has netted eight goals and scored in four consecutive league matches.

The Magpies now sit third in the league table, above the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea and are only five points behind reigning champions Manchester City.

The 28-year-old has become a fan favourite at St Jamesā€™ Park for his efforts for the club and attacking threat on the pitch.

He will be looking to extend his goalscoring run tomorrow night against Chelsea in Newcastleā€™s final match before the World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Magpies made it a clean sweep of awards for October. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe was also named the Premier League’s Manager of the Month for October after an unbeaten month.

Almiron won goal of the month as well with his strike against Fulham. This is the first time a club has achieved a triple feat since Chelsea in November 2016.
