Manchester United are reportedly planning a sensational move Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
United will release Ronaldo following his explosive interview in which he slammed the club, accusing them of betrayal and trying to force him out, as well as stating he has no respect for manager Erik ten Hag.
Although United were already scouting for strikers, their plan was to buy a new forward next summer, when Ronaldo’s contract expires and it becomes more possible to sign the targets they had identified.
However, 37-year-old’s explosive interview has brought his second stint at Old Trafford to an end, with United deciding to move forward their plans to acquire a new striker.
Mbappe To Replace Cristiano Ronaldo At Manchester United?
According to The Mirror, Manchester United are considering an audacious move for Mbappe as Ronaldo’s replacement, spite of the fact that the 23-year-old is far from established in Paris.
Mbappe signed a lucrative new three-year contract at the Parc des Princes earlier this year, turning off interest from Real Madrid to stay with the French champions.
However, reports surfaced last month stating that Mbappe feels “betrayed” by the club over failed promises and wishes to leave, believing that he made a mistake by accepting his new contract.
According to the report, Man United had intended to focus the acquisition of a new striker next summer, but those plans will be set in action during the winter as Ronaldo prepares to be locked out of the club.
The Red Devils are expected to spend at least £150m to get Mbappe, which they are reportedly ready to do, as well as £500,000 in weekly salaries for the Frenchman.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is no longer interested in a deal for Mbappe, but Man United recognizes that a January transfer will be very tough while PSG prepare to play in the Champions League final rounds.
Mbappe has 19 goals and five assists in 20 matches for Christophe Galtier’s men this season, bringing his total for PSG to 190 goals and 93 assists in 237 games across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has three goals and two assists from 16 appearances in the 2022-23 season, with his most recent appearance coming in a 3-1 Premier League loss to Aston Villa on November 6.
