Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been offered a lucrative three-year contract to extend his playing career into his 40s in Saudi Arabia after the World Cup.
The 37-year-old contract’s with Manchester United was terminated earlier this month, after a rocky relationship with club executives that only worsened when he made a series of controversial statements in a TV interview with Piers Morgan.
Throughout the summer, Ronaldo indicated that his desire to leave Old Trafford was fueled in large part by the club’s failure to qualify for Champions League football.
While Al Nassr may not be able to give Ronaldo European football, they have offered him a three-year contract worth £186 million, according to CBS Sports.
The gigantic deal is reported to be on the table in order to convince Ronaldo to transfer to the Middle East, but the player is still weighing his options in Europe.
Al-Nassr is one of the most successful clubs in Saudi Arabia, having won the country’s top division nine times, the most recent victory being in 2019.

Prior to the World Cup, Chelsea were viewed as the most likely Premier League destination for Ronaldo, especially given Todd Boehly’s long-standing affection for the Portugal captain.
However, reports earlier this week stated that the club had ‘gone cold’ on signing the forward, but that the situation remained flexible in case Boehly changed his mind.
Blues manager Graham Potter is also said to be uninterested in signing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, despite his club scoring only twice in their past five Premier League games.
