Kyle Walker is in line for his first start of the England’s World Cup fixture with Wales on Tuesday evening.
The Three Lions enter their last Group B fixture having garnered four points from matches against Iran and the USA, with the latter’s goalless draw prompting harsh criticism of Southgate’s side.
However, England remain top of the group and will qualify for the last 16 unless they lose by four goals against their British opponents at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium.
Regardless of the favorable scenario in front of them, there would have been demands for Southgate to make changes after the lackluster performance against the Stars and Stripes.
According to talkSPORT, a lot of changes are probable, with Walker set to return to action after an injury.
The Manchester City right-back has been out since the beginning of October owing to groin surgery, with the initial prognosis being that he would miss the tournament.
Despite his lack of playing time, Walker was named to the 26-man squad with the intention of entering the fray in the second group game.
As things stand, it’s unclear what role Walker will play, but he appears to be on track to play major minutes against the Dragons.
According to the report, Jordan Henderson should also replace Jude Bellingham, who played for less than an hour against USA on Friday evening.

Southgate is also considering Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, and Marcus Rashford for their upcoming match.
To many people’s surprise, Foden was an unused substitute against the USA, and the Manchester City playmaker could be called up on Tuesday.
