Cristiano Ronaldo ‘To Complete Al-Nassr Move Before New Year’

Cristiano Ronaldo ‘To Complete Al-Nassr Move Before New Year’

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly edging closer to completing a lucrative move to Al-Nassr before the end of the year.

The 37-year-old’s second stint at Manchester United came to an end last month after the controversial interview he had with Piers Morgan was made public.

Ronaldo’s contract at Old Trafford was terminated by mutual consent after he stated that he had little regard for Erik ten Hag and slammed the Glazer family, among others.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s quest for a new club was put on hold as he focused on Portugal’s World Cup run, which concluded in the quarterfinals against Morocco.

Since Portugal’s elimination, the attacker has been staying fit at Real Madrid’s training facilities in preparation for his next professional move, with Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr regarded one of the favourites to sign him.

Al-Nassr manager Rudi Garcia has stated that he would welcome the opportunity to coach Ronaldo, but the club’s president, Musalli Al Muammar, has refuted that discussions have taken place.

However, according to Marca, the 37-year-old will join Al-Nassr at the end of the year on a two-and-a-half year deal until the summer of 2025.

According to the report, Ronaldo is now in Dubai awaiting his move to the Saudi giants, and his contract is valued at whopping €200m (£175m), making him the highest-paid player in the world.

Saudi Arabian officials are also thought to be confident that Ronaldo’s arrival will help them in their bid to host the 2030 World Cup, and the striker appears to have given up hope of playing in the Champions League again.

Ronaldo came in as a substitute in Portugal’s quarter-final loss to Morocco, but he appears to have no plans to retire from international football.
