Man United Launch £52.5m Bid For Antoine Griezmann

Manchester United have reportedly launched a €60million (£52.5m) bid for Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.

The Red Devils are widely tipped to recruit a new forward during January transfer window, having terminated Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract at the end of November.

Griezmann has long been linked with a transfer to Old Trafford, with the 20-time English champions reportedly considering signing him while he was at Real Sociedad.

The 31-year-old was in great form for France at the 2022 World Cup, contributing three assists in seven matches as the Blues advanced to the final before losing on penalties to Argentina.

Griezmann was just re-signed on a permanent basis by Atletico Madrid in October, with his deal set to expire in June 2026.

However, there has been talk over his future in recent weeks, with Atletico’s failure to qualify for the final stage of the Champions League creating financial concerns.

According to Fichajes, the Red Devils see the Frenchman as the ideal successor for Ronaldo and have made a bid of €60m (£52.5m) with the intent of signing him in January.

According to the report, Diego Simeone’s side do not want to let him depart as of now, but they could be tempted if Manchester United raises their offer.

Griezmann has made 21 appearances for Atletico Madrid this season, scoring six goals and providing five assists.

The attacker began his professional career at Real Sociedad, where he spent five years between 2009 and 2014.

Griezmann was a Barcelona player between 2019 and 2022, though he struggled to make an impact at Camp Nou, returning on loan before securing a permanent transfer.
