Real Madrid are reportedly set to rekindle their interest in Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe and they are ready to spend almost €1bn to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid over the summer, with his initial contract set to expire in June 2022.
Mbappe did, however, sign a new two-year contract with PSG that would keep him at the Parc des Princes until the summer of 2024, with an option to extend by a further 12 months.
Mbappe has had an outstanding start to the 2022-23 season, scoring 19 goals and contributing five assists in 20 appearances across all competitions for the Parisian giants.
The Frenchman also played great for his country at the 2022 World Cup, winning the Golden Boot award after scoring eight goals in seven matches, including a hat-trick in the final, which Les Bleus lost on penalties to Argentina.
While Mbappe has been scoring goals for leisure, rumours continues to linger on his next career move, with the striker allegedly claiming that signing his new deal at PSG was a “mistake”.
According to Gazzetta.it, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is still interested in Mbappe and is willing to go all out to sign him next summer.

According to the report, Los Blancos are ready to put together a transfer package worth €b (£878m) over a four-year contract.
Manchester United and Liverpool have also been linked to Mbappe, though they are understood to be prioritising other targets at the moment.
Mbappe returned to PSG training less than 72 hours after losing in the World Cup final, ahead of the start of the 2022-23 season, with the Ligue 1 holders hosting Strasbourg on December 28.
