Cristiano Ronaldo To Undergo Medical Ahead Of £62m-a-Year Move

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to undergo a medical with Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr ahead of a £62million-a-year move.

According to CBS Sports, the Riyadh-based club have scheduled the medical and reserved lodging for Ronaldo, 37, and his entourage. According to reports, they are confident of completing the signing of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

It was previously reported that a seven-year contract worth $75m (£62.1m) per year had been proposed after Ronaldo mutually terminated his Manchester United contract following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

Since then, broad terms on a potential contract, including a weekly wage, have been agreed upon.

If he does decide to sign, he is expected to play a role in Saudi Arabia’s upcoming bid for the 2030 World Cup.

He would also wield power off the field at Al-Nassr, with a possible move into management on the cards once he retires.

Ronaldo had been looking for Champions League football after United finished fourth in the Premier League last season. He’s had to sit out this season and watch as Lionel Messi approaches his all-time goal record in Europe ‘s premier competition.

However, his agent Jorge Mendes was unable to secure a suitable move for him during the summer transfer window, and there have been no interested parties since he became available on a free transfer.

Ronaldo’s misery was exacerbated earlier this month when Portugal was knocked out of what is likely to be his final World Cup by Morocco in the quarter-finals.

However, since returning home from Qatar, he’s been able to spend more time with his children and girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez, who surprised him with a new Rolls Royce for Christmas.
