Frank Lampard Accepts Job Is On The Line After Brentford Defeat

Frank Lampard has acknowledged last night that his job was in jeopardy after Everton were humiliated by Brighton.

The Toffees manager is under pressure after they were destroyed 4-1 by the Seagulls at Goodison Park. After their seventh loss in ten Premier League games, Lampard’s team was jeered off the field, and there were calls for the board to be fired.

What Frank Lampard Said

“Since I have been here we have been in this situation of a relegation battle last year and through this season.

“It is not a case of fear [about his job], it is a case of keep working. I cannot control the talk or the decisions when you are around this area of the table. This is what happens.

“When you lose a game like this, I absolutely understand any reaction. I don’t listen to too much of it because if you do it becomes your focus point.

“I am very confident in myself and will work to turn it round, I cannot predict the future. We have to try and win games.”

Lampard added: “It is difficult we have to understand it is maybe human nature. It is what it is.

Everton have won just three times all season which has left them firmly in a relegation scrap. Owner Farhad Moshiri could now be looking to appoint his seventh manager in his six-year reign at the club.

Meanwhile, the players were booed off as the atmosphere turned toxic when Brighton raced clear.
