Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol during the summer transfer window.
Gvardiol is only in his second season with the Bundesliga giants and is under contract till the end of 2026-27.
Despite this, the 21-year- old’s quick improvement has led to him being connected with one of Europe’s biggest clubs on a seemingly monthly basis.
Chelsea were interested in the Croatia international during the summer transfer window, but Leipzig turned them down.
Gvardiol recently addressed the transfer controversy, admitting that he was disappointed by his inability to move to the Premier League, but implying that it was best for his growth to remain with Leipzig.
Chelsea have lately attempted to sign Benoit Badiashile as a replacement for Gvardiol, although other clubs have been identified as admirers.
Manchester City, Manchester United, and Real Madrid have all been mentioned as possible future destinations for the left-sided defender, and it appears that another club may be joining the hunt.
According to journalist David Lynch, Liverpool will most likely get involved if it becomes clear that Gvardiol will be moving in the next transfer window.

Although the Merseyside giants are believed to desire to bolster their midfield, Jurgen Klopp’s team has battled in defense for much of the season.
Speaking to the Born And Red Youtube channel, Lynch said: “I’ve absolutely no doubt that Liverpool will be all over Gvardiol in the summer. The Red Bull link, I know they watch them regularly and will absolutely love him.
Previous reports have stated that if formal bids for Gvardiola are presented to Leipzig in the summer, they will want around £70m.
