RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose has ruled out the chance of star defender Josko Gvardiol leaving the club this summer, despite interest from Liverpool and Chelsea.
The 21-year-old has established himself as one of the top young defenders in the world, taking his game to new heights for club and country in recent seasons.
The Croatia international, who helped his country finish third at the 2022 World Cup, was initially loaned back to Dinamo Zagreb after signing a permanent deal with Leipzig in 2020, but he has since evolved into a first-team regular for the German club.
Gvardiol has made 73 appearances for Leipzig in all competitions, scoring four goals, including the equalizer in the 1-1 draw at home against Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 encounter.
Despite the fact that Gvardiol is under contract at the Red Bull Arena until June 2027, a slew of prominent European clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Real Madrid, are said to be interested in his services ahead of the summer transfer window.
After publicly stating his desire to play in the Premier League, the defender recently prompted talk that he could be on his way to England.

In response to those comments, Leipzig manager Rose has stated unequivocally that the talented youngster will not be leaving the club during the summer transfer window.
Rose told reporters after Leipzig’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City: “Josko Gvardiol will be an RB Leipzig player next season,” as quoted by talkSPORT.
“I am the coach and I am asking for that. He is happy here. He said he wants to play in the Premier League but he didn’t say when.”
