Manchester United ‘Considering’ Kylian Mbappe Swoop After Takeover

Manchester United will reportedly ‘consider’ a move for Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe this summer should a big-money takeover materialise.

The Red Devils are set to enter the summer market to sign a new center-forward, with Erik ten Hag eager to find a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo after his contentious exit in November.

United are reportedly interested in another elite striker in the form of French sensation Mbappe, who has been heavily linked with a move away from PSG in the previous year or so.

Mbappe, who has been linked with Real Madrid and Liverpool, has scored 27 goals in 28 games for Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions this season, and he won the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot after scoring eight goals in Qatar, including a hat-trick in the final.

However, according to Football Insider, if the Glazers agree to sell the club to an interested party, Manchester United could launch a big-money bid to capture Mbappe this summer.

Interested parties were given a soft deadline of 10 p.m. on Friday to submit bids for the Red Devils, and two bids have been received from Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Manchester-born billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

However, according to a recent report, the Glazers have rejected all proposals since they do not reach their £6 billion asking price.

Man United’s chances of signing a player of Mbappe’s caliber would increase if they were to win the EFL Cup on Sunday. Ten Hag’s team are presently in third place in the table, eight points ahead of fifth-place Newcastle United.
